Update: Self-Study Design Document Approved

May 6, 2022

The Self-Study Steering Committee is pleased to announce the approval of Penn State’s 2024 Self-Study Design by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) on May 4, 2022. The Self-Study Design serves as a guide for researching and writing the University’s self-study report. (See Self-Study Design)

Terence Peavy, MSCHE vice president for institutional field relations and Penn State’s MSCHE liaison, conducted a virtual University visit on April 15 to meet with multiple constituents about the self-study process, including students, alumni,  faculty, staff, and the Board of Trustees. He spoke extensively to the steering committee members and provided helpful insights on self-study report preparation.

Self-Study Working Groups have been formed and will begin the work of gathering evidence of compliance with MSCHE Standards of Accreditation as they look to begin writing draft chapters of the self-study report. Steering committee members look forward to the continuous engagement of the University community during the Fall 2022 semester as the self-study process unfolds.
