Betty Harper
Assistant Vice Provost for Assessment
Betty Harper is an Assistant Vice Provost for Assessment in the Office Of Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Research. She supports faculty, program coordinators, and administrators across Penn State to develop and execute plans to assess student learning in undergraduate and graduate programs, certificates, and general education. She also helps to coordinate, administer and analyze University-wide assessments in areas of institutional focus.
Betty has been at Penn State for over twenty years and has enjoyed varied experiences as an undergraduate program coordinator, doctoral student, director of Student Affairs Research and Assessment, senior research associate in institutional research, and associate vice provost for institutional research.
She holds a PhD in Higher Education (Penn State), MS in Wildlife Ecology (University of Florida), and BS in Natural Resources Conservation (University of Florida). Outside of the office, Betty is an avid mountain biker, downhill skier, and equestrian.
