Organizational Excellence Initiatives

A great number of organizational excellence-related initiatives take place across the University. The following list provides examples of some of this important work. If you have a suggestion for additional initiatives we might highlight here, let us know at strategicplan@psu.edu!

  • Building Organizational Excellence Capacity Taskforce
(2021- Co-chairs: Sheri Matter, Assistant Teaching Professor, Director of Online MSN Programs, College of Nursing; Peter L. Moran, Associate Dean for Policy & Planning, Assistant Teaching Professor, Penn State Altoona)
  • Remote Work Taskforce
(2021 – Sponsored by Nicholas Jones, Executive Vice President and Provost, and Lorraine Goffe, Vice President for Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer)
  • Resource Optimization Initiative
(The Resource Optimization Initiative initially began in July 2018 as an outcome of the Affordability Task Force, championed by the Board of Trustees, to identify how the University could create better financial controls to minimize costs, enhance University services and fulfill strategic initiatives, such as One Penn State 2025.)
  • Strategic Budget Approach Task Force
(The Strategic Budget Task Force was formed in December 2018 to examine key issues related to the University’s budget processes and make recommendations about a new budgeting approach for Penn State. The SBTF is a part of the Resource Optimization Initiative (ROI) under the Financial Transparency workstream.)
